ANGKOR WAT
Angkor Wat is a famous temple in Cambodia and is the world largest religious monument in the world. It was built approximately between A.D 1113-1150 and took around 30 years to construct it. Researchers found inscriptions stating that the construction involved around 300,000 workers and 6000 elephants but yet was still incomplete. Angkor Wat was formed by King Suryavarman II who declared that it would be a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu God; Vishnu which caused arguments with others who wanted to focus the temple on Shiva (Siva, meaning “The Auspicious One” or "Great Lord Of The Threefold World"). It was dedicated to Vishnu for a time but was converted into a Theravada Buddhism temple in the 14th century due to its rising popularity.

This is a bird’s eye view painting of Angkor Wat.
The painting shows what the artist sees Angkor Empire is like from his/hers perspective. This is secondary source because it is from their point of view of how Angkor Wat looks like. So it can not be used as a reliable source of information because it may have been edited or modified.

Banteay Srei or Banteay Srey (meaning "Citadel of the women" or "Citadel of beauty") is one of the most smallest temples in the Angkor empire (Cambodia) and is primarily dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva (the central tower and the southern temples are dedicated to Shiva, but the northern temples are dedicated to Vishnu). It was completed in 967 A.D and was the only major temple at Khmer Empire that wasn't built by a king, but was built by Yajnavarhara who served as a counsellor to King Rajendravarman II. Further expansion and rebuilding of the temple was subjected in the 11th century, and at some point was under control by a King that changed the temples original dedication. Researchers found an inscription testifying that Banteay Srei was than given to a priest named Divarakapandita after the king died in the 12th century and yet was again devoted the Shiva. http://www.theroadtoanywhere.com/the-amazing-carvings-of-banteay-srei-in-angkor-cambodia/
