Jayavarman VII
Jayavarman VII was born in 1120 and died in 1215. He was the ruler of the Angkor/Khmer empire for 30 years.
Jayavarman was considered a great king and a hero throughout his rule, with compliments projecting that Jayavarman expanded the Angkor empire to its greatest extant. Jayavarman's major achievements include leading military campaigns against the neighbouring Chams to free his captured Angkorians and help them regain their independence which proved successful.
Another major advancement by Jayavarman was the promotion of Mayahana Buddhism to the state religion and the building of new temples which worshiped Mayahana Buddhism. In result of all of his great achievements, Jayarvarman VII was hailed a hero in the growing Angkor/Khmer empires history.

This sculpture of Jayavarman VII was made during his reign and showcases his appearance which was made by a sculptor during the time of his reign. We can conclude this is a primary source due to its time of creation and the aspect it represents.

This role play conducted on 27 April 2007 shows itself as a secondary source.
The role play was made to show the rule of Jayavarman VII through the directors own eyes. The creation of this play makes it is a secondary source due to the possibility of a bias apprehension by the director or some parts being left out to benefit the audience and director which means it is a tampered piece.

SuryavaRman ii
Suryavarman II also known as Paramavishnuloka after his death, was a Khmer king of the Khmer empire who reigned the empire from 1113 AD to around 1145 AD. Though Suryavarman's age and birth is unknown, historians have concluded his death was between 1145-1150 AD. Suryavarman's greatest achievement was the building of Angkor Wat, the largest single religious temple in the world which was devoted to the Hindu God Vishnu, who is part of the Hindu Trinity. Through his long reign Suryavarman II led many major military campaigns against the Chams and another civilisation know as the Dai Viet which was a Vietnamese precursor state. Although Suryavarman's military campaigns consisted of large number of soldiers and considerably strong weapons, their success rate was not high and consisted of very little victories.
The Kings reign also included the establishment of many innovations in art and architecture, such as Angkor Wat dubbed the most astounding relic of the Khmer empire and the 5 towers which were constructed for worship among the peaks of Mount Meru (home of the Hindu gods). Suryavarman II married, but no record exists of his wives' names. Suryavarman II was unusual among Khmer kings in making Vishnu rather than Shiva the focus of court religious life. The reasons for this decision are not known. Scholars have long debated whether his association with Vishnu helps explain why Angkor Wat faces west, the necessary direction with which Vishnu is associated, rather than the common orientation for Khmer temples of east. Using the many establishments and achievements of Suryavarman II, historians have concluded that he was one of the greatest and influential kings the Khmer and Angkor empires had ever seen.

This impression of king Suryavarman II from the online game "beyond the sword" shows an artists impression of King Suryavarman. We know this is a secondary source because of its context to a video game which means that the character would be biased or tampered with to suit the creators needs which clearly represents this impression as a secondary source.
